Eloïse Maës, Inner weather

Watching the water
‘Inner Weather’, a design for an air humidifier, was based on Eloïse Maës’ research of porcelain sand with Studio Unfold. The porous nature of the matter allows the water to soak into the cavities between the tiny grains of porcelain sand. Because of the soluble pigments contained in the object, the water’s path becomes even more fascinating to track, and pouring and watching it becomes like a meditative ritual. When the water evaporates, the colour becomes bright again, and the process repeats when you pour again. As you cool the room, you cool your mind as well.
